The foundation in a Nutshell
- The Internet of Blockchain Foundation is an independent organization with one goal in mind; to foster innovation and adoption of more secure, safe and private decentralized resources.
- In 2017 the IOBF came into existence, spearheaded by blockchain entrepreneur Matteo Gianpietro Zago; founder of Essentia. One, the first working Web 3.0 protocol and interoperability framework.
- The IOBF is a legal entity registered under the Netherlands jurisdiction, allowing for the registration of members, donations and operations in accordance to the advancement of the Web 3.0.
The decentralized web is defined by the following standards:
The Web 3.0Is the antithesis of the current internet. It’s about multiple profit centers sharing value across an open network.
There is no central point of control:Middlemen are removed from the equation, blockchains such as Ethereum provide a trustless platform where the rules are unbreakable and data is fully encrypted.
Ownership of data:End users regain complete control of their data and have the security provided by encryption. Information can then be shared on a case-by-case and permissioned basis
Dramatic reduction in hacks and data breaches:Because data is decentralized and distributed, hackers would need to turn off the entire network, while state-sponsored tools such as Vault7, used by the three-letter agencies, would be rendered obsolete.
Interoperability:Applications will be easy to customize and device-agnostic, capable of running on smartphones, TVs, automobiles, microwaves and smart sensors.
Permissionless blockchains:Anyone can create an address and interact with the network.
Uninterrupted service:Account suspension and distributed denial of service are dramatically reduced.
